From projection, it is estimated that the population in Hong Kong would increase from 7 million in 2009 to 7.66 million in 2019. This set of maps show the yearly distribution of the projected population by Tertiary Planning Unit (TPU) from 2009 to 2015. TPU is a geographic unit used by the Government for planning purpose. There are a total of 287 TPU. The main population increases would take place in TPU in the New Territories. Data for the maps were taken from the government report “Projections of population distribution 2010-2019” released by the Planning Department in December 2010.

根據推算，香港人口將會從2009年的700萬上升至2019年的766萬。小規模統計區是政府進行城市規劃慣用的地理分界，全香港共分287小區。這一組地圖顯示香港按小區每年人口推算，可見來年增幅以新界地區較大。地圖數據源自香港政府規劃署2010年12月發表報告《人口分布推算2010-2019》。
