These maps show the distribution of newborns in Hong Kong by proportion (number of newborns in each district / total number of newborns *100%) and in accordance with the mother’s residential district between 1997 and 2006. Source of data was HealthyHK, Department of Health, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The following class intervals were used: 0 - 2.5%; 2.51 - 5.00%; 5.01 - 7.5%; 7.51 - 10%.
From 1997 to 2006, Eastern and Shatin District accounted for a high proportion of newborns throughout the years. Sai Kung and Yuen Long District showed an increasing trend and were among the highest by the end of 2006.

在一九九八年至二零零七年期間,東區與沙田區的新生兒比例長期維持於高水平。在此十年期間,西貢及元朗區的新生兒比例續漸上升,並在2006年成為全港高新生兒比例之冠。
