空間流行病學簡介

Epidemiology is the study of the distribution of diseases, related factors and health conditions in a population. The "time", "place" and "person" are the building blocks of the epidemiology. Spatial epidemiology zooms in the geographic distribution health and diseases, an often neglected dimension of epidemiology. SpatioEpi is a project that encompasses explorations involving the study of geography and public health, and the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in the study of epidemiology.

流行病學是研究疾病和健康在人群中的分佈及其影響因素的一門學科。構成流行病學的是「時間」、「地點」與「人物」。空間流行病學則是當中一個常被忽略的範疇，著眼於健康與疾病的地理分佈。SpatioEpi是一個探討地理與公共衛生的互動項目、包含地理信息系統於流行病學上的應用。
